Interpretations of Production Logo Animations

Universal Studio Vintage Logo Introduction

The first motion picture studio animation to come to mind was the Globe from Universal Pictures.

Thought it would be interesting to compare where they started and where they are today.

This Universal Picture Intro begins by illustrating the connection of all these glowing soft star like points on the globe.The Animation ends with Earth as the center of our Universe and the anchor of the logo.

During this spot you get the idea that Universal has the whole world entertained, by showing these glowing streaks of light that collectively connect and give this feeling of inspiration.

I like the simple use of Extruded letterforms and focus on the shape of the sphere.
Its interesting to see how they still played off the original logo animation style using modern animation techniques.


Weintstein Company

This is Identity of another mega studio out of the west coast The Weinstein company.
I have always been attracted to the starkness and simplicity of this logo. Using 3 spotlight to create the W letter form keeps it from not feeling too static.


20th Century Fox:

20th Century Fox intro is another classic Introduction. The soundtrack is iconic , I love this particular take on the Intro from "Simpsons the movie". Ralph is hilarious.
